Simon and Debbie Rutherford opened the very first Micropub in Scotland in the summer of 2015. It was a leap of faith that led to 10 top awards, including Visit Scotland's Best bar/pub in the Lothians and Borders.
Closer to home, Rutherfords was described by a local as "The beating heart of the square"...
They were also responsible for launching the World's first Haggis Gin from our very own DeliQuescent and organised and hosted Kelso's first Classic American Car Show.
The pub was sold in 2021.

When 2020 threw us all the curveball none of us saw coming, it was time to start re-thinking the way to deliver the uniqueness of Rutherfords to a wider audience in a safe way, so we launched our mobile bar, Rutherfords 2
The beautiful mobile bar was originally owned by the awesome guys behind Dead Man's Fingers Rum, and once they saw her, they knew she had to be theirs, so travelled all the way down to Cornwall to grab her by the golden tassles and drag her home to the Borders! She was lovingly transformed in to Rutherfords2, and enjoyed 3 busy, hectic , fun filled years being the centre of attention at some fabulous events!
